The Camp Eden 5K and Canyon Carnival

Purpose

The purpose of the Camp Eden 5K event is to raise funds to help Camp Eden fulfill its mission statement. Funds raised through the event are used to offset general expenses and for capital improvement projects.

Course and Timing

Say goodbye to the crowded city and head to the mountains for the Camp Eden 5K. Enjoy stunning views of the continental divide on a route that traverses meadow and alpine forest. Terrain is hilly with flat sections over a surface of dirt or gravel.

At an elevation of 8800 feet, the Camp Eden 5K should provide an enjoyable challenge to any level of runner. The race is electronically chip timed by Colorado Race Timing and great prizes will be awarded to top runners.

Prizes
1st Place Male and Female—$100 each 2nd Place Male and Female—$50 each 3rd Place Male and Female—$25 each Prizes will also be given for the top runner in each of the following age divisions: Under 12, 13-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61+.
Barbeque and Canyon Carnival
The Camp Eden 5K is much more than just a race—it is a community event! Immediately following the awards ceremony, all runners and those who signed up for the “Carnival Only” option will enjoy a barbeque with hamburgers, hotdogs, side dishes, and dessert. From noon to 2:00 PM, we will open the campsite for tours, give participants an opportunity to ride our 300’ ft. zipwire, and host a carnival including face painting, balloon animals, and great carnival games!

Sunday, June 5—Registration Deadline (Registrations received after June 5 will be assessed a $5 late fee.) Saturday, June 11—Race Day 9:00 AM—Registration at Camp Eden 10:00 AM—5K Race 11:30 AM—Awards Ceremony 11:45 AM—Lunch 12:00 PM—Canyon Carnival at Camp Eden 2:00PM—See you next year! Canyon Carnival Schedule—Many of the Canyon Carnival events will be open during race registration and the race, beginning at 9:00 AM. All carnival events will be open from Noon until 2:00 PM.
